Wednesday October 6th

Read: 1 Corinthians 1:4-9

Learn: In this passage Paul is writing to the church in Corinth, and he is expressing his gratitude for them. He thanks God for them and declares the faithfulness of God to them. Paul demonstrates something we should all grasp a hold of. Thanksgiving. He gives thanks for the Christians in Corinth, these people who he had witnessed to patiently, who are now coming to know Jesus for themselves. He is thankful for God’s work in Corinth, knowing that it all happened in His timing. Like Paul, we need to give thanks to God for the good works He chooses to do in His timing. Sometimes it is hard to understand why God works the way He does and when He does, but we need to have confidence in the faithfulness of God, and in His timing.

Reflect: Do you sometimes struggle to understand God’s timing? How would your perspective change if you decided to fully trust God and then be thankful for His actions, whenever they may come?

Pray: God, help me to accept your timing. Give me a heart of thanksgiving toward you. Help me to trust in your timing. I pray that you work in the lives of those I love. In Jesus name, Amen.
