Daily Devotion: October 5th 2021

Tuesday October 5th

Read: James 5:7-11

Learn: In this passage James encourages us to be patient as we wait on God. We are to wait patiently on the coming of the Lord. In the meantime, we are to conduct our lives without negativity and grumbling. It is so easy to be negative while we wait. In fact, we often are. Many situations in our lives require us to wait. But especially in today’s culture of instant gratification, we are often negative when we are forced to be patient. But we need to be an example to the rest of the world, not complaining or grumbling, but waiting well. We know God has a plan, and like James says, we need to remain steadfast as we wait.

Reflect: Are you being negative while you are waiting on the Lord? How could keeping a positive attitude while you wait affect you and those around you?

Pray: God, give me patience as I wait for you to work in my life. Give me a positive attitude and allow me to be an example to others. In Jesus name, Amen.
